About the panelists:
Marcia Horowitz is one of the leading professionals in the public relations industry today. As managing director at Rubenstein for more than 30 years, Ms. Horowitz has been involved in challenging and high-profile assignments, providing senior-level counsel to hundreds of clients and representing their interests in daily interaction with a cross section of the nation's major print, electronic and online media. Ms. Horowitz heads a business-to-business practice consisting of three groups -- Law Firms, Financial and Business Entities, and Crisis Management. Ms. Horowitz directs the growth and success of the Law Firm Practice, one of the largest and best known in the industry. She also oversees the firm's Financial Group and supervises programs for well-known investment firms, hedge funds and private equity groups, as well as companies in diverse industries ranging from healthcare to technology. Ms. Horowitz heads up the firm's Crisis Management Practice, representing high-profile individuals and companies embroiled in legal, regulatory and public relations issues. Ms. Horowitz was also recently listed as part of Lawdragon's 100 Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists for 2016.
Leslie Isenegger has more than 15 years of experience in public affairs, corporate communications, issues management, and public relations. At Syneos Health, Leslie helps clients in the pharmaceutical, consumer, and healthcare delivery sectors manage high-profile issues and develop compelling value messaging strategies and corporate value narratives. Leslie's expertise includes supporting clients undergoing value framework assessments and preparing clients for pricing and market access challenges. Of the nine ICER reviews completed since October 2016, Leslie has supported clients in five separate categories. She recently published a piece about ICER's proposed rare disease framework in Pharmaceutical Executive. Leslie has an extensive background in healthcare policy, working for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the Public Affairs and Legislative Offices; she also served as chief speechwriter for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and had a pivotal role in developing the national roll-out of the Medicare Part D benefit. Leslie also led Corporate Communications at GNYHA Ventures, the privately held for-profit arm of the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA).
As associate executive director, public affairs and community relations, Evelyn Hernández is responsible for responding to news media inquiries and promoting the achievements of NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and its staff to the media, community members and stakeholders. She works collaboratively with the Executive Director and senior leadership on communications strategies for the hospital. She is responsible for internal communications including email blasts and printed materials and external communications including press releases, media advisories, interviews, press conferences, the NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue website and social media.
